So, next week is a bit of another dessert for boxing, but we do have fight cards throughout the world from Argentina to Tanzania, via Bulgaria, Estonia, Japan and Mexico amongst others. Of course, whilst there are not recognisable names on these cards and therefore not mentioned here, there are people attempting to put on fights, entertain the public and do something meaningful to earn a living so hats off for that.
We do have a 4-fight card in Pennsylvania, tonight, Saturday the 16th of January and a three fight card on Wednesday the 20th of January in Connecticut. The second event is a Showtime one and it may serve as an aperitif to what comes after…
Saturday 23rd January
Once again there are plenty of international cards with such exotic names as Kazakhstan, Russia and Thailand added to the international mix, but we do have some fights worthy of mention – world title fights no less…
The WBA interim world title fights for the lightweight belt between Rolando Romero and Justin Pauldo and for the super bantamweight belt between Vic Pasillas and Raeese Aleem. The full WBO world title shall be contested between Angelo Leo and Stephen Fulton at super bantamweight.
Friday 29th January
We have more heavyweight intrigue as Bermane Stiverne returns against an unnamed opponent, the WBA cruiserweight title shall be decided between Beibut Shumenov and Raphael Murphy and three years after winning it in 2017, Manual Charr gets to defend his WBA regular world heavyweight title against the undefeated Trevor Bryan.
